Southwood Nutrition was set up in 2014. Fiona explains,

"I want to offer people from all walks of life a non-weight focused approach to food and nutrition. I was introduced to this approach during my degree course and I regularly attend training within this area. I passionately believe the current cultural narrative around health and body weight promotes behaviours that can lead to poorer self-care, overall health and general well-being over time. Mounting evidence corroborates how dieting and the pursuit of weight loss can be damaging to our physical and psychological health. Alternatives such as cultivating a healthful relationship with food, our bodies and activity have been shown to elicit improvements to overall well-being in the longer term, independent of an individual's weight. This approach can be applied to every body whatever the health or performance goals may be."

Fiona is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and is a full member of the British Dietetic Association.
